李献计历险记 ~ Life Sucks

Ok, so I have to admit, without English subtitles I don’t understand much of this stunning Chinese animated short. It doesn’t matter. 李献计历险记 (lǐ xiàn jì lì xiǎn jì) or Life Sucks is supprisingly well done, so it’s easy to be drawn in by its dark and beautiful artwork, provocative images, and its really well scored to boot!

From what I understand, this 20 minute film took 2 years to complete independently and the authors say that it was a work of love. The plot revolves around a young man who seems to have problems with the perception of time and is looking for true happiness.

好吧，必须得承认，没有英文字幕我很难明白这个非常棒的中国动画短片到底是什么意思。不过还好，李献计历险记或生活都是充满了惊奇，因此很容易创作出出色的艺术作品，刺激的画面和与现实这样的贴近。

这是一部独立完成的片子，历时两年，时长20分钟，但是作者说：
“自己一人儿做的，只是我没勇气辞职，因为还得生活，还得给自己在乎的人们买礼物，这都要钱。用业余时间花了两年半做完，我就粗粗拉拉一做，你们也就嘻嘻哈哈一看，咱都为图乐子来的不是么。”

“这部片子没有教条的叙事方式，没有严谨的艺术风格，但是却让人目不转睛，尤其是叙事方式让人如何也想不到最后的结局；一口京片子倒是为这个片子增色不少，最后的镜头，除了黑客帝国，也是向楚门的世界致敬吧。”
